NationsU uses the standard American grading scale. An “A” is 90% or higher. “B” is 80-89%. “C” is 70-79%. As mentioned earlier, NationsU does not accept or award grades lower than a “C,” so you must study until you pass an exam or assignment.

Likely, anywhere in the world. NationsU is an international university, and our professors are all over the globe. However, your interaction with them takes place online and through the exchange of written assignments. As you submit written assignments, your professor will provide feedback and directions for improvement. Using the assignment as the centerpiece, you and your professor engage in the learning process together. Way better than listening to a boring lecture!

The good news is that you do not need to purchase textbooks. Textbooks are provided with the cost of your tuition in electronic format and located directly in the course. You may read online or download segments to study.

You study wherever you are. Your “classroom” is your computer interacting with our classroom site that contains the entire course.

Great question! Students are expected to read, listen to, or watch a wide variety of lessons. Sometimes, you may be reading from the syllabus/lecture notes. Other times, you are watching videos or listening to lectures on the internet. Students are also expected to complete assignments that can range from multiple-choice exams, to essays, to research and exegetical papers, to ministry projects and more. Of course, you won’t have all of those in one course.

NationsUniversity offers courses and programs that are self-paced, self-directed, asynchronous, and multi-modal. Self-paced means you study on your schedule. Self-directed means you must practice self-discipline. Asynchronous means there is no set time for classes; courses do not feature real-time interaction with professors or other students. Multi-modal means we use different mediums to instruct, from documents to interactive quizzes, to videos, to audios.

The Username is the code issued to each student or proctor upon completion of registration. For newer students, those who registered after January 1, 2019, your username will be a six alphanumeric code combining three letters and three numbers (e.g., ABc123). Use your username along with the password you received from the Student Information System (SIS) to login at the elearning.nationsu.edu site.

A: Your Student ID Code is assigned randomly by the Student Information System (SIS). If you studied with NationsU prior to 2019 and are returning to study, your username may be the same as the Student ID Code. This Student ID Code is your personal code. It is an alphanumeric code consisting of two letters (representing your country of residence) followed by six numbers (e.g., XX123456). Be sure to include this code in the subject line of any e-mail correspondence to NationsUniversity staff or your advisor so that we can best help you. Write to your advisor if you have forgotten your username.

The password you created when applying will remain your password for accessing your student account. Your password is needed with your username to log on to the NU CLASSROOMS page. Write to student.services@nationsu.edu if you have forgotten your password. If you wish to change your password, instructions on how to do this are on the NU CLASSROOMS page in the right-hand column.

Go to elearning.nationsu.edu and use your username and password. This is the same username and password you used to complete your application.

Postal service was discontinued for new students on January 1st, 2009. The only students who may use postal services are those who are incarcerated.

Courses at NationsU are taken in layers. There are a set of courses students must complete, along with at least two proctored exams, before they can begin taking courses in the next layer. Once students complete the foundation courses, they are free to take any course that meets the requirements of their plan of study. Your advisor can guide you through this process. See ACADEMICS for degree requirements.

All students are enrolled in Orientation to NationsUniversity Online Studies upon acceptance. Undergraduate students may also enroll in BRS 100, A Search for Spirituality. Graduate students begin with MRS 622, Encountering Biblical Spirituality.

Students are allowed to complete courses at their own pace; however, students are encouraged to set a goal to finish any course in 90 days. A student who has no activity in any course in a 6-month period is no longer considered to have “active” status.

Personal discipline is very important. We recommend that a student consider the time he/she is able to give to study, establish a routine schedule, and stick to it. For example, if you can complete a module in a week, then map out the course for five weeks. If you have more or less time to devote to study, then make your schedule realistic. The schedule will help you determine when to take that first exam.

Application Fee – A one-time initial application fee of $25 shall apply to all new students no matter where they reside.

Tuition – A tuition fee of $450 per academic quarter for students who reside in the 35 most developed countries. All other countries receive a 100% discount on tuition. Visit the “How Much Does it Cost?” page under Academics to learn more.

Books – All books are included with your tuition. However, you may purchase books at your own expense.

The exam link is under each Module on the course menu. The time limit is stated on your exam. Exams consist of a set of multiple-choice questions. When completed, review your answers and click “submit all and finish.” Your exam grade will be posted on your grade book within 24 hours of taking the exam. If your score is below 70, you should plan to re-take the exam after more study. If your score is above 70, you may proceed to the next module.

There is a time limit for each exam. The time limit is different for different exams and is stated at the top of your exam page. Students may take an exam 3 times to recieve a passing grade. However, the questions will be different with each test you take.

Beginning January 1, 2011, all students are required to take online exams. Only students that are incarcerated in the U.S. may receive exams by postal mail.

Instructions regarding exams are given when you open an exam online. A few exams allow notes and Bibles but, as a general rule, you should not expect to be able to view sources when taking an exam.

Go to the Left column, open Academic Info, and click on Grades.

Click to show “only active courses” or uncheck to show all.

All online assignment grades will be available for you to see online within twenty-four (24) hours of graded.

Students can review their exam answers immediately after the exam is graded, which occurs automatically when it is submitted. Questions that receive “0” points are obviously wrong. However, the correct answer will NOT be indicated on the review. Once the student logs out of the classroom.nationsu.edu site, he or she will be unable to view the exam.

There is no need to re-take the entire course. NU requires that each module exam be passed with a minimum of 70% score. If you fail only one exam, you need only re-take that one exam—up to the three allowed attempts. Your course grade will remain open but incomplete until you have passed the one exam.

Please allow three weeks for grades to appear. Very often the professor assigned to your class may read and evaluate your work within a shorter period of time, but please wait two weeks before inquiring.

If you are an existing or a new student and you are having difficulties logging in to your account, or any other issues with any student sites, write to your advisor. He or she will be pleased to assist you.

In order to download textbooks from EBSCO, you must install the free Adobe Digital Edition (ADE) software. ADE serves as the “bookshelf” and reader for books downloaded from EBSCO. For students with an older computer that cannot download the Adobe Digital Edition software, there is a mobile app available for download. Diplomas are issued after a student has met all the requirements for their degree program. NationsU has three graduation dates per year in the North American Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons and all requirements for the degree must be met at least two weeks prior to graduation. Within two to three weeks after the graduation date, Digital Diplomas are issued by email to graduates (or to the sponsor email for incarcerated graduates) at no extra cost to the graduate. Physical Diplomas are mailed within that same time frame by post to those graduates who have paid their graduation fee and responded to the Graduation Email from the Registrar’s Office confirming their correct details and mailing address.

Diplomas are printed in a landscape format, on quality paper, 8 ½ high x 11 inches wide.

You will receive an email from the Office of the Registrar approximately six weeks prior to graduation. You must confirm how your name will appear on the diploma and the address to which it will be sent. The name on the diploma will match exactly the confirmation you provide.

All materials are taught in English (or American, if you prefer) per the requirements of our accreditation. However, for students with limited English proficiency, translator tools are available in each course to help you sort out difficult concepts and grammatical constructions. Written assignments must be completed in English in order to be graded.

The NationsUniversity Orientation Guide and the APA Manual of Style are located in the Orientation to NationsUniversity Online Studies course on the NU Classrooms website. You will need to be a registered student to use your username and password to access this material.

If you need help in preparing for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the World English Institute provides FREE courses to prepare you for the TOEFL or to help you improve your English. You may register for their courses, which are not part of NatiosnU’s programs, at www.worldenglishinstitute.org.

The graduation fee may be paid on the Ledger tab of your elearning.nationsu.edu dashboard.

Review the options available to you in the Academic Catalog and Student Handbook. Consult with your advisor. If your questions are not satisfied you may then download the grievance form.

NationsUniversity is affiliated with the Restoration Movement in America. Students completing the NU M.Div. may apply to the Chaplaincy Endorsement Commission (CEC) if they wish to serve as military chaplains for the independent Christian churches or churches of Christ. Other denominations may or may not accept NU’s M.Div. as chaplaincy endorsements are denomination-specific. When the student you are proctoring is ready for a proctored exam, you will be given the password to the exam. Once the student opens the exam portal, you enter the password for the specific exam. Do not allow the student to see the password. To proctor an exam, you must be present in the room with the student in order to enter the password and to observe his or her completion of the exam.
