Voice of the Lord

The voice of the Lord, have you heard his call? Do you have ears to hear it, or are there more pressing concerns urgently screaming for your attention? The invitation the prophet Isaiah heard was very general; he merely volunteered. He could have remained silent, and the Lord would have found someone else.
The Lord does not need us as much as we need Him. We live in a noisy world full of distractions. Misleading voices compete for our attention. Yet the Lord is always signaling us, even without words. Be still and listen for the voice of the Lord.
Is there something the Lord would have you to do this day? Muster the courage to step forward and offer yourself to His service without worring about your inadequacies. You will be strong because He is strong.
Pray, Lord God, teach me to embrace you and not to fight you, to recognize that where I am weak you are strong. All glory be to You and Your name.

8 Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”
