The NationsUniversity’s Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Evangelism program offers an academic and spiritual journey, focusing on the development of ministry leaders equipped with a theology informed by biblical principles and critical engagement with diverse perspectives. Through an indepth study of scripture, students utilize research-based theories and skills to lead evangelistic ministries effectively, while addressing cross-cultural dynamics with biblical insight. The program emphasizes integration of insights from various disciplines, fostering a comprehensive strategy for personal and organizational ministry. Central to the curriculum is the cultivation of personal spiritual reflection, leading to increased maturity, stronger Christian character, and enhanced spiritual leadership.
Unlike other programs at NationsUniversity, the Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Evangelism is not tuition-exempt. Students enrolled in this program are required to pay tuition fees. This ensures that the program can offer advanced resources, personalized support, and specialized coursework necessary for the rigorous academic and spiritual training of ministry leaders. The tuition fees contribute to maintaining the high quality and integrity of the doctoral program.
Program Learning Outcomes
The outcomes of the DMin program are to prepare graduates to,
- Articulate a theology of ministry that is biblically informed and critically engages alternative perspectives.
- Utilize research-based ministry theories and skills in the development, implementation, and leadership of evangelistic ministries.
- Develop biblical ministry plans that address the impact of cross-cultural and intercultural issues and dynamics.
- Integrate insights from a variety of sources (including the social sciences and other disciplines) into a comprehensive and effective strategy for personal and congregational or organizational ministry.
- Demonstrate personal spiritual reflection in ways that result in personal maturity, stronger Christian character, and spiritual leadership.
Admission Requirements
Official transcript reflecting a minimum 72-hour M.Div. from an accredited institution. For applicants without an accredited M.Div., an M.Div. equivalent may be considered. M.Div. Equivalent: Minimum 30-hour master’s degree in theology or a related topic plus any second master’s degree that provides a total of 72 hours of graduate work. Both degrees must be from an accredited institution.
A minimum of three years of full-time ministry or five years of part-time ministry (paid or volunteer). For students applying with an M.Div. equivalency, the minimum requirement is 5 years of full-time ministry or 8 years of part-time ministry (paid or volunteer).
- An essay by the applicant explaining their philosophy of ministry and goals for the program. (Minimum of 700 words).
- Recommendation letter from one church leader.
- Cooperating Congregation letter.
- Recommendation letter from one academic professional (if not a NationsU alumnus)
If required, English proficiency score of 65 on TOEFL PBT, 80 on the iBT, 6.5 on the IELTS, or 58 on the Pearson Test. Other tests may be accepted if approved by accrediting agency.

5. Submit official transcripts and English proficiency test to registrar@nationsu.edu
6. Email the following documents to dmin@nationsu.edu:
a. Resumé or C.V.,
b. Essay on ministry philosophy and educational goals,
c. Recommendation letters from one church leader and one academic professional, and
d. Letter of cooperation from your local congregation.
7. Applications are due by May 1st for early decisions and by August 15th for late decisions. Applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Only fully completed applications will be considered by the committee.
Committee Selection
All students will select and receive approval for a D.Min. committee consisting of three members, at least two of which must be from NationsUniversity. A Committee Chair must be identified from the NationsUniversity members of the committee. The committee will guide and evaluate the student’s work throughout the program and make final recommendations as to successful completion after hearing the oral defense.
Course Attendance Requirements
The D.Min. program is a combination of asynchronous components with weekly class meetings. Each term, though 16 weeks in duration, consists of approximately 10 class meetings, including student presentations. Students must attend in-person at least 70% of all class meetings and 70% of student presentations. Class meetings will be recorded, and absent students will be expected to review the recorded meetings. A student who writes a brief summary of the recorded class meeting will be given half-credit for attendance for up to two missed sessions.
The D.Min. program is a series of 9 four-month terms (for a total of three years) plus additional time for project presentation and oral defense. The terms run from September to December, January to April, and May to August. All cohorts will begin on September 1st of each year.
