Seek the Kingdom of God

Seek the Kingdom of God

How do we make “Seek the kingdom of God” a real priority in our lives and not merely a pretense? How do we put it above all else? So easily, we are distracted by the worries of the day. The pressure of anxieties bends our thoughts towards our problems and away from our problem solver!

Oh, how quickly we forget that we are children of the Almighty King, princes with ready access to the throne. It is not crises that lure us away, but the dull daily drudgery of making a living. Soon we have forgotten His kingdom and are absorbed in establishing our own futile empire. Seeking His kingdom means setting our minds each day to laboring as His subjects. It is about being a good steward of what He has given you, and being a faithful, loving child of the Almighty Father. Do this and watch how He adds one blessing after another to you. And when the storms of life come, and they will, how faithful He is to carry you through them.

Prayer, I call upon Your name, and I will make known Your deeds among all peoples. I sing to You praises and sing of all Your mighty works. Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! I will seek Your strength and Your face always.

The chief purpose of life, for any of us, is to increase according to our capacity our knowledge of God by all means we have, and to be moved by it to praise and thanks. –J.R.R. Tolkien

Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
