The Narrow Door

The Narrow Door

“Work hard to enter the narrow door,” Jesus makes this statement in response to the question, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” His answer raises another question for us today; am I taking the grace of the Lord for granted? Indeed, what is this narrow gate? And how do I strive to enter through it into salvation” There is only way for us to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus tells us plainly, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”* and “Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.”**

Our striving to get into the Kingdom by any other method except the cross of Jesus, is futile. Our strife comes in blocking everthing else out, and remaining focused on our King, our gate, the author and finisher of our faith.

“Three things are necessary for the salvation of man: to know what he ought to believe; to know what he ought to desire; and to know what he ought to do.”Thomas Aquinas

Prayer, Father, it is only by Your grace that I can stand through my many trials. Open the doors of help for me and strengthen me to walk through them.

Luke 13:24

24 “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail. (NLT)
