To Spiritually Discern
How do we spiritually discern important things? God is under no obligation to reveal anything to the natural man. Moreover, the natural man is at odds with God, and busy indulging himself in the pleasures of the world with every ounce of his selfish lust. From the world’s point of view, nothing seems more foolish than what matters to the natural man, and the world always honors those things.
These worldly gains are advertised as the fulfillment of man’s purpose for living. It is only when we are left empty by the pursuit do we begin to question the futility of that lifestyle. Therefore, as Christians we must be able to discern between what is right and what sounds right. We must lean on the Holy Spirit to spiritually discern important matters of this world.

Prayer, Lord, reveal to me your will for my life. Let me seek you praise and not the praise of men. Help me to spiritually discern what is right from what sounds right.
1 Corinthians 2:14
14 But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. (NLT)
