What is Good

What is Good

How many times have you tried to do what is good? How often have you tried to stay on the path of righteousness only to take a wrong turn? Paul talks about this in the Book of Romans. He explains this is what it means to be a slave to sin. Sin and flesh become our masters when we willfully gave in to those desires that separate us from God.

We may have experimented with it out of pure curiosity, or some form of childish rebellion. Yet from that moment on, we became its slave. We try to quit, but the desires of this world hold on us is so tight that we continually find ourselves doing exactly what we are trying to stop doing.

Consequently, we see the destruction and havoc it creates in our lives. Yet, we are helpless against this evil taskmaster. There is only one way out of this bondage—to accept a new master. The Good King!

Whatever you do, He will make good of it. But not the good He had prepared for you if you had obeyed him. —C.S. Lewis

Prayer, Lord guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior.  Teach me what is good, my hope is in you all day long.

Romans 7:19

I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. (NLT)
